Congratulations to Eric Mallet who had a fantastic shoot at the UK Masters in Lilleshall this weekend! He came 5th in the WA1440 on the Saturday, and finished 3rd in the Head to Heads on the Sunday. Very well done!

A collective thank you gift from the club, presented to Joe and Lynne Cordaro at our awards evening for all their hard work during our move to Noak Hill.


Well done to our archers who attended the ECAA County Field shoot today! Jonathan secured the junior county record with a score of 71! Congratulations.


Congratulations to Abbey Bowmen at this year's Spitfire Longbow Shoot hosted by Leaves Green Archers in Kent. Eric Mallet won the individual trophy with Harry Cossey in 3rd place and Andy Rae in 4th. Abbey Bowmen also won the team trophy.

Eric - 93 hits / 507 score / 10 golds
Harry - 80 hits /406 score / 13 golds
Andy Rae - 91 hits / 481 score / 11 golds


Well done Eric for winning the Rayleigh Town Open Yorks with a score of 313! A very impressive trophy for the mantlepiece.

Huge congratulations to Eric Mallet on achieving his Master Bowman status. Eric secured two gold medals this weekend, and his score at the ECAA Championships of 637 for a WA1440 was not only a Master Bowman score, but a county record!


Congratulations to Eric Mallet who had a fantastic weekend at The National County Team Tournament, finishing 3rd individually and breaking the county record for 3 dozen at 70 metres. The Essex Longbow team, with Eric, finished in 3rd place.


Well done to our longbowers at the Grays Double National shoot! Andy Rae got the silver medal, and Eric secured gold. Congratulations to the whole team!


The Abbey Outdoor Open will take place at Harrow Lodge Park on May 27th. Entry form is available in the Tournaments section to the right. We look forward to seeing you there!

Vince Gorham 1928-2018

Abbey Bowmen is greatly saddened by the passing of Vince Gorham, who died 7th January. He has been greatly involved in the club for many years, providing free coaching to our members, as well as organising tournaments which the club hosts. We offer our deepest sympathies to his family.


Congratulations to Eric and Jonathan Mallet, who both won gold in their categories at the Racketts Indoor Portsmouth shoot. Eric scored 475 for Longbow Gents, and Jonathan scored 134 for Longbow Juniors.


Thank you to everyone who attended our Longbow Open shoot this year. We hope you all thoroughly enjoyed yourselves and look forward to seeing you again next year.
